Volkswagen Tiguan at Molle Volkswagen in Kansas City

The Tiguan is the best-selling Volkswagen SUV is in the U.S., and the all-new 2025 Tiguan model is set to turn everything we love about it up a notch. How? Well, it features bolder styling, enhanced fuel efficiency, and more power. Many important interior elements, such as the surface materials and the infotainment system, have been upgraded to boost drivers’ and passengers’ overall experience as well.

Let’s look at what other elements have been improved and upgraded in this redesigned midsize SUV to give you the best driving experience possible.

Best New and Improved Features of the 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan

Power & Performance

The 2025 Tiguan has a 2.0-liter turbocharged EA888 four-cylinder engine that generates 201 horsepower. That’s a significant increase in power over the 2024 Tiguan. The 2025 also has better fuel economy than its 2024 predecessor because it’s 170 pounds lighter than that previous model. How is this weight saved? It comes from the aluminum suspension components and the hot-formed steel in the body structure.

These are the main power and performance features we know about at present for the 2025 Tiguan, but we’ll let you know when more details emerge.

Exterior

The Tiguan’s exterior has received a few changes, such as a shorter rear overhang, all-new sheet metal, and a slight wheelbase increase. It also has slimmer lights and a higher nose than the 2024 model, as well as a powerful shoulder line and an extended roofline. All these elements contribute to the Tiguan’s bolder and more expressive design.

The Tiguan also has new wheels. The standard aluminum-alloy wheels measure 17 inches, while the mid-range trims have 19-inch wheels, and the top trims get 20-inchers. The Tiguan also has three new color options: Sandstone Uni, Avocado Green Pearl, and Monterey Blue Pearl. These new offerings also contribute to the Tiguan’s bolder appearance.

Interior Features

As mentioned above, the 2025 Tiguan’s redesign includes upgraded materials in its interior. These materials include American walnut wood décor, upgraded Savona leather interiors, cloth seats with an embossed design, and a wrapped and double-stitched center console, which is now larger and has ample storage space. This console upgrade is possible because the designers moved the gear selector from the center to the steering column. Overall, these design changes and upgrades have given the Tiguan’s interior an upscale, elegant feel.

Tiguan Infotainment System Enhancements

Also mentioned above is the fact that the 2025 Tiguan’s infotainment system has been enhanced. What do those enhancements look like? Well, for one, there’s the next generation of standard Volkswagen 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Pro System.

Along with those systems that enhance driving, there’s also the central infotainment system itself, which has a standard 12.9-inch display and a rotary dial in the center console, along with the Driver Mode Select and Atmospheres options. The Driver Mode Select is, of course, the system that lets you choose which mode you want to drive in, based on what the weather and terrain are like. The Atmospheres feature provides synchronized ambient lighting and audio settings that you can select and personalize to set the mood in your Tiguan when you drive around in it. Overall, these infotainment system enhancements help you make the car your own while also helping you drive safely and effectively.

2025 Volkswagen ID. Buzz: Price, Range, and More

The old-school VW Microbus is perhaps one of the most iconic vehicles of all time. Its spaciousness and funky good looks made it incredibly popular during its heyday, but its age makes it quite a rarity in 2024, so many of us will likely never see a running one up close and personal. Fret not though, because V-Dub has officially resurrected the Bus in the form of the electric Volkswagen ID. Buzz, and orders are already open for shoppers in Kansas City. Read on to discover the key specs and features of this retro-futuristic EV. ID. Buzz Performance, Range, and Charging Much like the OG bus, the ID. Buzz’s standard powerplant is situated at the rear, which grants it excellent traction and acceleration. The ID. Buzz also benefits from the low-profile battery pack, which keeps the van’s center of gravity near the ground and helps it stick to the street better than many gas-powered vehicles. The electric motor is a new permanent magnet synchronous design that’s capable of over 90 percent efficiency in all driving conditions, ensuring no power is wasted. The standard rear-wheel drive ID. Buzz creates an impressive 282 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque, and it has an estimated range of 234 miles on a single charge. For those looking for even more sure-footed performance, the ID. Buzz can be optioned with 4Motion® all-wheel drive. This system adds an electric motor near the front axle and cranks the total output up to 335 horsepower, and the intelligent traction control allows the AWD system to react significantly quicker than mechanical setups. With 4Motion® all-wheel drive, the ID. Buzz’s range is an estimated 231 miles. Regardless of drivetrain, the battery can be charged at up to 200 kilowatts, allowing it to go from 10% to 80% charged in under half an hour. The ID. Buzz also packs plenty of power. Rear-wheel drive models can tow up to 2,600 pounds, while the ID. Buzz with 4Motion® tows up to 3,500 pounds. ID. Buzz Technology As you’d expect, one of the biggest differences between the ID. Buzz and the Microbus of yore is the fact that the new electric VW Bus is absolutely loaded with tech features. Front and center, we have a 12.9-inch digital infotainment display, which features the latest software for an intuitive and lag-free experience. The center screen handles all media and driver assistance tech, as well as auxiliary functions like climate control. The ID. Buzz also comes with Volkswagen Car-Net®, which allows access to connected services, in-vehicle Wi-Fi, and even an available upgraded package that utilizes ChatGPT to enhance voice recognition capability. Other tech features include the 5.3-inch ID. Cockpit, standard wireless phone charging, available head-up display, and available Harmon-Kardon™ 14-speaker audio system. In addition to all these thrilling tech features, the ID. Buzz comes standard with Volkswagen’s IQ.DRIVE suite of driver assistance technology with Travel Assist semi-automated driving. ID. It also has best-in-class legroom in all three rows, and the total passenger volume comes in at an astonishing 163.7 cubic feet. All rear-wheel drive ID. Buzz models come with a standard second-row bench seat, which allows seating for seven to fit with acres to spare. There’s also an option for second-row captain’s chairs for added versatility. There are also multiple storage bins and cubbies throughout the cabin, as well as the standard Buzz Box removable center console, which can be moved between the second-row captain’s chairs. Three available interior color schemes are available, and exclusive to the American market: Moonlight, Dune, and Copper, each with their own distinct vibes that allow you to personalize your ID. Buzz in several ways. ID. Buzz Exterior The design team behind the ID. Buzz sought to create a modern-looking van while still paying homage to the unmistakable style of the classic VW Bus. It features tons of retro touches like the giant VW logo and massive wraparound windows, which allow excellent sightlines. When designing an electric vehicle, it’s pivotal to make it as aerodynamic as possible to ensure the best possible efficiency and range. Luckily, the makers of the original Volkswagen Type 2 Bus followed a similar ethos, which allowed the ID. Buzz to retain a lot of the same design language and style. The new electric VW van has a drag coefficient of just 0.29. The exterior features include dual sliding doors that allow easy access to both rear rows, as well as power sliding windows and an easy-open tailgate. Exterior colors for the ID.
